Jacob Barton

Jacob is a lover of music and found his outlet in the drumline of the marching band at Purnell Swett High School then, convinced to audition by his bestfriend, he found his true passion when he was cast as Garvin in the All-County Musical, Footloose. Jacob has been learning and pursuing all forms of theatre and performing since that moment. Over the past several years he has expanded his skills and acting range, being featured in musicals and dramas including: Cinderella (Henrietta), The Wiz (the Wiz), The Chronicles of Narnia (Aslan), The Outsiders (Dallas), High School Musical (Troy Bolton) and Pride and Prejudice (Wickham). He admits that he loves developing very complicated twisted characters, so no surprise that creating the Dentist for Little Shop of Horrors was one of his favorite roles. When not on stage, Jacob is a fervent "techie"; building and painting sets, creating designs for shows, marketing, hanging and focusing lighting and stage managing.  An avid singer with strong rock-n-roll roots, he is a founding member of "Nightsong" an intimate urban pop/jazz vocal group which performs throughout the area.  He auditioned for X-Factor and won through the first two main rounds in North Carolina. He has also been featured in Cape Fear Regional Theatre's productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Fiddler on the Roof.
